Incidental Endo Course
The Endodontic Course Premise:
When we sat down to write this course we really wanted to give GDP’s the tools and knowledge to tackle primary endodontics in a predictable and affordable manner. There have been some really exciting advancements in endodontic equipment in the past decade and it’s important to stay updated and embrace these developments as they make providing quality endodontic treatments easier and so much more enjoyable.
File metallurgy had improved beyond recognition and mechanised glide paths and competitively priced files with more minimal tapers have made endodontics more efficient and minimally invasive.
Reciprocating files, bioceramic sealers and obturation and irrigation developments have all entered the market and need to be discussed and understood.
In our customary style this course will allow delegates to experiment and understand and test a variety of file systems and obturation techniques so that they can evaluate and develop workflows that will suit them in day to day clinical practice.
We have wanted to run this course for several years but it is fundamental to our courses that we offer a really rich practical teaching opportunity and this has required significant research and development.
During the course you will be working on novel typodont teeth in our bespoke phantom heads. Our typodonts and unique mounting plates allow both a realistic challenge for endodontic preparation and accurate apex locator readings.
Delegates will also be encouraged to bring extracted teeth and their own file systems to the course to further experiment. The extracted teeth can also be mounted in our bespoke mounting plates for a uniquely lifelike clinical simulation.
Practical Exercises Covered:
Endodontic access and rubber dam isolation
Canal preparation using mechanised glide path file and continous taper systems
Canal preparation using reciprocating file systems
Continuous wave obturation
Obturation with bioceramic sealer
A chance to practise endodontics on natural teeth in mounted simulator (extracted teeth must be provided by delegates)
This 1 day course is suitable for all Dentists and completion is associated with 7 hours Verifiable CPD.
This course will be led by Andrew Gemmell and Chris O’Connor (see speaker bio’s)
Group sizes are limited to facilitate 1 to 1 feedback and case discussions
