Alan Burgin

Alan graduated from Cardiff in 2012 and went on to work as a maxillofacial SHO before completing an MSc in Implantology in Bristol. Since then he has worked in private practice in Truro, Cornwall where he has has set out to work to the highest standards as a general dentist with a particular passion for composite and isolation.

Alan is perhaps better known by his instagram handle @the.cornish.dentist

Ollie Bailey

Ollie qualified from Newcastle University with honours in 2005, winning numerous awards pertaining to clinical and academic dentistry. He worked in general practice for 13 years, training extensively in restorative and implant dentistry, before moving to Newcastle University where he is teaching and undertaking research into the costs and benefits of the alternatives to amalgam. He has written a book chapter and published numerous articles on restorative dentistry techniques.

Ollie has been heavily involved in postgraduate education for a number of years, including lecturing at the prestigious Kois Center in Seattle, where he is a graduate, whilst maintaining a small commitment to general practice. He is past elected Chairman of North East Private Dentists and a big sports' fan, often to be found in the North Sea trying to surf.

Colin McGuirk

Colin McGuirk BDS, MSc (Dental Implantology), MClinDent (Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics)

Colin received his dental degree from Newcastle University and returned to the south west soon after. Colin has since performed extensive postgraduate training with dental experts from the UK, Europe and America. His training includes the completion of two masters degrees; a MSc in dental implantology and a MClinDent in fixed and removable prosthodontics and he was awarded a distinction for both degrees.

Colin works in a private referral practice in Bath limiting his practice to prosthodontics. He has a particular interest in treating complex cases and especially in the management of tooth wear. Colin’s expertise is in utilising minimally invasive, adhesive techniques to restore individual teeth and complete arches. Colin is involved in teaching dentists as part of MSc/MClinDent programmes, and through independent courses across the UK. 

Harry Craig

Prior to qualifying, Harry worked as a professional photographer for a variety of clients across the North East. He still aims to help dental related businesses by taking corporate images of both practices and courses.

Harry qualified from Newcastle University in 2021 obtaining a BDS (Hons) with merits in both clinical and academic dentistry. Following foundation training he started in private practice and has worked here since. He has a particular interest in restorative dentistry and has enrolled at the Kois Centre in Seattle starting in 2024.

In addition to working in practice he has taught photography to dentists across the North East for Health Education England prompting him to launch the Capture course in 2023.

Chris O’Connor

Chris graduated in 2008 From Newcastle Dental School.

In 2014 he left general practice and started work as a clinical academic at Newcastle Dental School. There he spent time undertaking clinical research and teaching restorative dentistry to undergraduate and postgraduate students. He previously held the role of deputy degree programme director of the Newcastle University Restorative MClinDent.

Chris set up Incidental Training in 2011 and has delivered well over 100 hands on practical courses on all manner of restorative subjects. Wanting to find a way to supply delegates with hard to buy equipment he cofounded Incidental Ltd in 2019 and now holds the role of CEO of the company.

Chris returned to primary care dentistry in 2022. Chris works part time in private practice in Newcastle Upon Tyne and accepts referrals for complex restorative cases, in particular the management of tooth wear.
