Chris O’Connor

Chris graduated in 2008 From Newcastle Dental School.

Chris spent the next 6 years Predominantly in general practice. In 2014 Chris left general practice and started work as a clinical academic at Newcastle Dental School. Chris spent time undertaking clinical research and teaching restorative dentistry to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Chris recently held the role of deputy degree programme director of the Newcastle University Restorative MClinDent.

Chris’s research involved the study of a novel composite crown and he devised and completed an industry sponsored clinical trial that was adopted onto the prestigious NIHR portfolio.

Chris set up Incidental training in 2011 and has delivered over 100 hands on practical courses to date on all manner of restorative subjects. Wanting to find a way to supply delegates with hard to buy equipment Chris cofounded Incidental Ltd in 2019 and now holds the role of CEO of the company.

Chris is the ultimate dental geek and has a passion for teaching, research, developing dental equipment and high quality patient-centred restorative dentistry.

Chris derives his greatest professional pleasure from supporting fellow dental professionals develop and watching them achieve great things. There is no greater treat for an educator than watching the student become the master.
